Meaningful Language Mastery: ” Supporting Foreign Language Learning with Thinking Based Learning Method and Unlocking Language Minds “

2024-2-EE01-KA210-SCH-000290478
The main objective of the project was to introduce and implement the Thinking-Based Learning method in English language teaching in order to improve students’ critical thinking, problem-solving skills and practical language use. The project aimed to train teachers in this innovative approach, develop Thinking-Based Learning-integrated English curricula, and ensure inclusive, sustainable and high-quality foreign language education across partner schools.

Objectives:
1-to support 30 teachers and 10 students in 3 LTTAs directly in our 1 year project
2-to promote Thinking Based Learning as an innovative method to replace traditional language learning methods.
3-to promote critical thinking, problem-solving and practical application of language skills with Thinking Based Learning
method.
4-to make Thinking Based Learning method an important part of foreign language learning first and then for other sujects at
our schools
5-to increase the practical proficiency of students in English by incorporating thinking based learning activities into their
language education.
*These goals are directly linked to our main priority 'Promoting a comprehensive approach to language teaching and
learning.' It is clear that traditional methods in foreign language teaching do not work at the desired level. Therefore, we will
try the thinking-based learning method as an innovative method in foreign language teaching and make it permanent in our
schools.
6-to equip foreign language teachers (English) with the knowledge and skills to implement the Thinking Based Learning
method in their classrooms
*This goal is directly related to our first relevant priority ' Supporting teachers, school leaders and other teaching
professions'.We will support our teachers and make them more equipped with the training in which they will learn the details
of the thinking-based learning method that we will provide for foreign language teachers.
7-to collaborate between different organisations to experience Thinking Based Learning and apply in language education
first and then for other subjects.
8-to create inclusive and diverse Thinking Based Learning method integrated foreign language curricula to maintain
sustainability in partner schools
9-to eliminate the disadvantages of students who have difficulty in learning languages due to their different disadvantages,
through the thinking based learning method.
*These goals are directly linked to our 2nd related priority 'Inclusion and diversity in all fields of education, training, youth
and sport'. We have two schools and one non-profit NGO in our partnership structure. We believe that this provides diversity
in line with our purpose. We will develop inclusive and diverse foreign language curricula, the content of which will include
cultural elements from the regions where the schools are located to facilitate language learning. Our school is in a Russian
speaking region and our other partner school uses the Greek alphabet. When we look at the alphabets used, similar
difficulties are experienced in teaching foreign languages. We aim to provide alternatives on how the thinking based learning
method can be applied to students who have learning difficulties due to different disadvantages.
Concrete Results:
-Thinking Based Learning method integrated curricula (21 curricula)
-Project website
-Project social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook)
-2 eTwinning projects
